Where Is The Draw Held?

The actual EuroMillions draw takes place in Paris, France, and players from a total of nine countries can play: Austria, Belgium, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, the UK. If you do not reside in one of these countries then you can bet on the outcome and play lotto online through the Multilotto website.

AEuromillions line consists of 7 numbers, with 5 main numbers from 1 to 50 and 2 Lucky Stars from 1 to 12. The EuroMillions jackpot is paid out to players who match all seven numbers and the least amount of numbers you need to secure a prize is 2 main numbers.

When Does the EuroMillions Draw Take Place?

There are two EuroMillions draws a week, one on Tuesday and one on Friday. The EuroMillions draw is at 8pm GMT. During the summer, after the clocks change, the draw takes place at approximately 21:00 CEST (Central European Summer Time) which is one hour ahead of British Summer Time.

You canbet on the outcome of EuroMillions up to one hour before the draw takes place. Typically, it is easier to buy lottery lines online, which allows players to buy lines around the clock. The official UK lottery, for instance, shuts down from around 2am to 8am every morning for what it calls "system processing".

This means that you can'tbuy your lines during this time, nor can you purchase lines to other lotteries if you are in the UK. How Much Can you Win on The EuroMillions?

You can win a maximum of €190 million on the EuroMillions. This is the maximum jackpot amount and usually requires several rollovers to get to this point. If it continues to rollover then any additional prize monies will be used to bolster the smaller prizes and the jackpot will remain the same.

The same jackpot amount will be paid out whether there is 1 winner or 10 winners, and the amount of winners will also dictate how big the other prizes are. To give you an idea, a recent EuroMillions jackpot of around €100 million saw just under 3 million winners in total, over 1.6 million of which won the smallest price, collecting around €4 each and basically earning enough to place another line and have €1.50 spare.

Winners who matched three numbers received closer to €10, those who hit 4 main numbers won in excess of €50, and those who hit five numbers (just 11 players in total) won over €26,000. As you can see, those early wins are pretty small compared to the bigger wins, but with every additional number you get above 3 there is a significant jump in prize money.

This is true even if those additional numbers are Lucky Stars. Staying with the same draw, the 2,600+ players who got their €50+ from 4 main numbers would have won more than double that amount if they had 1 Lucky Star and in excess of €2,800 if they had both of the Lucky Stars.
